Health & Environment Policy

Take Stand, Be Responsible and Do Your Bit...

Giving life to dead and to unworthy should be the way and the lifecycle of any product we use. The process stimulates a chance, an opportunity to Mother Nature to breathe again and relive and reclaim her life. The waste, which starts a sequence of toxic elements risking health & environment, can be reduced to a great number and the motive of life can be achieved “Live and Let Live”. Varun Polymers GmbH has this motto to promote in life among human for the betterment of not only the present but also future.

For past 4-5 decades, we have seen huge change in the climate and one of the biggest factors in climate change is human influences rather environmental. The level of CO2 is increasing at a great pace due to emissions from fossil fuel combustion, followed by emission from industries. Human being is never out of idea. We need to realize it before it’s too late and start working for green initiatives. Hence, a small change in our approach can make big difference.

No Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in Rubber Chemicals

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are a group of over 100 different chemicals that are formed during the incomplete burning of coal, oil and gas, garbage, or other organic substances. PAHs are usually found as a mixture containing two or more of these compounds. Few of the PAHs compounds are as follows:

  • a) Benzo(a)pyrene,
  • b) Benzo(a)anthracene,
  • c) Benzo(b)fluoranthene,
  • d) Benzo(k)fluoranthene,
  • e) Chrysene,
  • f) Dibenz(a,h)anthracene,
  • g) Indeno(1,2,3-cd)pyrene, and
  • h) Naphthalene. etc.

In general, more PAHs form when materials burn at low temperatures. High-temperature furnaces produce fewer PAHs. Fires can form fine PAH particles. They bind to ash particles and can move long distances through the air. Some PAHs can dissolve in water. PAHs can enter groundwater from ash, tar, or creosote that is improperly disposed in landfills and also can cause cancer. PAHs are found in coal tar, crude oil, creosote, and roofing tar, but a few are used in medicines or to make dyes, plastics, and pesticides.
